Kalindi is a passionate community advocate with experience mentoring young people, managing community pages, and supporting local events. She is a qualified Youth Worker and also holds a Bachelor of Film Production.
She became a Disaster Recovery Volunteer during the record-breaking 2022 Northern Rivers floods and has since completed emergency management and welfare training to better support communities in crisis.
In 2023, Kalindi received an Honourable Mention in the Volunteer of the Year – Individual category at the Australia Day Awards for her dedicated contributions in areas such as flood recovery, youth mentoring, and community events.
Kalindi led a successful campaign for a village’s first skatepark in Northern NSW, engaging local youth in the decision-making process. She also advocated for safety upgrades, the installation of lights and cameras at another Northern NSW skatepark, based on input from the community.
